Prime Minister supports initiatives "bold" against malaria

nfluenza A, influenza A-H1N1 seems to be forgotten, at least in our region. Vigilance must stay put, however, for reasons often not obvious.

. Progress continues in the world, about 12 hundred patients identified in forty countries, which is an imperfect reflection of those actually infected or potentially threatened.
. Some local cases, United States, including Japan, which crippled more originally "Mexican" single disease. Clearly, any country may be infected or contaminated.
. WHO still maintains its alert level to phase 5. Recall that the level 6 signs the official recognition of the pandemic on a global scale.
. The fear acquisition of virulence by "crossing" with more dangerous strains, very possible in this type of virus to large mutant power.

The case of Africa
The continent's situation vis-à-vis the A-H1N1 virus is unknown, because of its under-equipped, apart from a few countries like South Africa. The director of health statistics for WHO, Dr. Ties Boerma said "They did not put in place a system that would tell us is the fact that avian H1N1 is here .. In most of these countries, there is no effective system of information on causes of death. "

This invites our fellow citizens and authorities to be more cautious: look up if possible purely political affairs and prepare a minimum of preventive measures, not to expect the first case, we hope to avoid. But do not leave everything to luck or chance. Good medicine is above the disease.

But a cautious optimism is possible, but within reasonable limits to the character (for now) relatively Benin manifestations of the disease, the same level of gravity as ordinary flu, Ms. Margaret Chang, Director General WHO, "we do not see the virus spreading in the southern hemisphere in the same manner as in the first three affected countries."

Recall simple hygiene measures

-Cleanliness, particularly hands, real means of spreading the germs. Wash your hands several times daily with soap is an act of public safety.
-In case of flu symptoms, prevent the release: handkerchief to cough and spit, if possible in the paper that we throw in garbage closed, wearing masks (if available), bring the case to the level of health authorities without delay, but without panic. The disease is most feared on low ground, immature or malnourished. This is unfortunately quite common in our latitudes.

We have already seen in an earlier vaccine treatment, affordable but not yet developed, and drugs, virtually out of reach for use in mass.
